Trempealeau County will have a new district attorney after November’s election. John Sacia defeated current D-A Taavi McMahon in yesterday’s Democratic primary recall election to advance to the general election. Sacia is a former assistant of McMahon’s but was fired after his reelection in 2016 for filing an intent to run in the recall election. Sacia will be challenged by Republican Rick Niemeyer in the on November 6th.

According to the Leader-Telegram, the land is on the southeast side of the city near the Happy Trail Dog Park. The rezoning was discussed at a public hearing yesterday where no one openly opposed the changes. A vote will be held on October 16th to finalize the plan.

The team announced today that up to 150 apartments and nearly 100 townhouses will be built along Brookwood Drive beginning early next year. The 45-acre development is just west of Lambeau Field. In addition to the residential development, a four-to-five-story office building will also be constructed along with several hundred parking spaces below.
