UPDATE: Investigators say the man shot by police in Outagamie County over the weekend wanted to be shot. Authorities yesterday released more information about the shooting that sent 43-year-old Jakeus Meltz to the hospital. Police say Meltz was angry and talked about being shot by police a few hours before he ended-up in a standoff Sunday with officers in Little Chute. Todd Mahoney’s funeral was yesterday where about 20 different fire departments were on hand. Mahoney was found unresponsive in the water during the race last Sunday morning. The Department of Natural Resources says Bostwick Creek was contaminated. DNR says it is still investigating the particulars. The state is warning fisherman along Bostwick Creek that the fish they catch may be contaminated as well.
