There is help at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire for students who are struggling to make it through the coronavirus outbreak. UW EC officials this week announced a new coronavirus relief fund. There’s 70 thousand-dollars available for students who need help making ends meet. UWEC says about 130 students have already asked for some help. The fund cuts them checks of up to 600 dollars.

A-G Josh Kaul yesterday joined 24 other state A-G’s in asking Congress to make sure that the coronavirus stimulus checks are protected from wage garnishments and other collections. Sawyer County Public Information Officer Diane McNamer says although travel isn’t recommended, it isn’t against the law.
