It was just before 2:30 on the morning of March 29th that the Dunn County Communications Center received a report of a wrong way driver on STH 29 traveling westbound in the eastbound lane from CTH T in Chippewa County. Dunn County Deputies responded to intercept the vehicle at the Dunn and Chippewa County line. Hagedorn currently lead Neubauer by about 58-hundred votes with all but a few precincts reporting, a margin he says is insurmountable. Hagedorn released a statement just after two o’clock this morning declaring himself the winner. Neubauer’s campaign says it believes the election is heading for a recount.

Police say they were called to an apartment building just before ten o’clock yesterday morning on a report that a drunk man who was armed was causing a disturbance. Two victims in the apartment were able to escape but the suspect, Matthew Culpepper, refused to come out. Culpepper eventually gave himself up after backup arrived and he was arrested and taken to the Barron County Jail.

Preston Kraft has been at a state mental institution since a judge found him unfit for trial last year. Yesterday, prosecutors said Kraft is now well enough to go to trial. He’s charged in Chippewa County with shooting at Robert Petit last April. Kraft is charged in Rusk County for allegedly killing Petit last May.
