EC MAN TURNS HIMSELF IN

An Eau Claire man accused of domestic and animal abuse is facing charges after turning himself in.  Authorities say Tywaine Robertson threatened to attack a woman with a baseball bat before leaving a home with a dog.  The dog was later found vomiting and lethargic and died-they are still investigating what happened to the dog.

IT’S CLEAR: BACK TO SCHOOL IS CHANGING

Back to school could look a lot different in backpacks. La Crosse Central High School is implementing a clear backpack policy when school begins in early September.  Any backpacks that are not clear will have to be left in lockers for the entire school day.  Students will be able to carry clear or mesh backpacks to classrooms throughout the day or can carry their books in their hands.  The school district says the policy is meant to ensure student safety

OH, SNAP! JOEY ISN’T THE BIG CHEESE

Joey Chestnut is NOT THE BIG CHEESE! One of the world’s greatest eating contest champions came up just short in BuckLand.  Joey Chestnut, who is ranked first in the world by Major League Eating, competed in the Wisconsin State Fair cheese curd eating contest this weekend.  He placed third. Who won?? Darren Breeden (BRIEden perhaps???) scarfed five-pounds, two-ounces of curds in six minutes.  The winter also sliced off four-thousand-dollars in prize money.

DEADLY CYCLE ACCIDENT

A crash is under investigation in Rusk County.  The collision happened Saturday evening when deputies say a motorcycle was rear-ended while trying to turn left off the highway in the Village of Glen Flora.  The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Eau Claire Police are searching for a wanted man accused of threatening a woman and mistreatment of animals. Authorities say Tywaine Robertson threatened a woman Wednesday night with a baseball bat before leaving the house with a dog. The woman found the dog lethargic and vomiting yesterday morning and it later died. It’s not known what happened to the dog, if you have any information you are asked to go to Police.

LACROSSE MAN CHARGED

A La Crosse man is charged with first degree intentional homicide in the death of his girlfriend. Erik Sackett appeared in court yesterday in connection with the death of Erin Somvilai. Somvilai was reported missing June 4th and found dead in Runge Hollow Lake in Vernon County tied down by concrete blocks two weeks later. She was found near a cabin that belongs to Sackett’s family.

An early morning accident leaves two injured and lanes closed on I-94. It was at 2:30 AM Thursday that a crash occurred on I-94 Eastbound at Exit 115 in JACKSON County near BLACK RIVER FALLS.
