Governor Tony Evers has a new bill that would require universal background checks for most gun sales in Wisconsin. The bill comes in response to the two recent mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio. The bill was recently introduced by Democratic lawmakers and Republican leaders are mostly dismissing it.
