A sailor from La Crosse is finally getting a homecoming and a final goodbye. George Naegle died in the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. His remains were not identified until recently. Now, Naegle will be buried in La Crosse and receive the funeral he never got back in 1941. Naegle’s family says everyone is invited to the funeral Saturday at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman in La Crosse.

Big Dan and Space Kelly’s Club manager Jared Elliott says he was inside the bar early Sunday morning when Sergio Retana started shooting someone. Elliott says a bunch of his customers got the suspect to the ground and took his gun from him before police got there. The bar has since re-opened.

The dog survived, but with some pretty severe injuries. The dog’s owner told police he shot the bear at least once. Glenwood City police and the Department of Natural Resources say they are both looking to find the bear.
