Woodman’s Market in Altoona put up plexiglass shields at each checkout station that cashiers clean every 30-minutes. Woodman’s also created a single-file checkout line and suspended the use of reusable bags. The grocer says cleaning crews are deep-cleaning and sanitizing the store.

University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Vice Chancellor for Administration Bob Hetzel told Wisconsin Public Radio that the school will refund over five-million-dollars in housing, dining, and parking costs. Hetzel said about 90-students remain on campus after the school moved classes online to limit the spread of coronavirus, and should those students choose to leave campus, they will also be refunded.

He wrote a letter Friday to Governor Evers asking that the governor re-open Wisconsin’s golf courses. The governor’s Safe At Home order lists golf courses as non-essential. Plumer says he understands the need for social distancing, but he says there is plenty of distance on an 18-hole golf course.
