Authorities say the woman’s body was recovered in the water near the Clark Street Bridge late this morning. An autopsy will confirm her identity and cause of death. The police believe she is a 76-year-old who went missing late last month.

The governor denied a request last week to lift his stay-at-home order which limits social and church gatherings to ten people. Today, drive-up services were approved and officials say they are looking for a balance between public health safety and the right to worship.

He has called on the Department of Natural Resources to close the parks because of large crowds, litter and vandalism. Read MoreOver six-million more Americans filed first-time unemployment claims last week, a quarter-million fewer than the previous week’s revised total. More than 16-million U.S. workers have filed for unemployment benefits over the past three weeks as the coronavirus outbreak spreads. The biggest increases in claims were in California, New York, Michigan, Florida, Georgia, Texas, and New Jersey. The largest decreases were in Nevada, Rhode Island, and Minnesota.
Read MoreA Chippewa County teen is charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl while she was intoxicated at Country Fest. Court records show 17-year-old Joseph McDermond was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault of an intoxicated victim. Police say McDermond was questioned about the events at the country music festival last June and initially denied them before claiming the encounter was consensual. The girl told counselors she was intoxicated and having trouble walking and McDermond sexually assaulted her.
