A medical incident may have contributed to a deadly accident in Baroon County. On Saturday July 4, just after 10:30 at night the Barron County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a vehicle that went off the road on SS just north of Chetek. The Better Business Bureau says an employment scam is when someone is led to believe they are getting a job that isn’t real. The report shows more than ten-thousand people have been victims of employment scams since 2017. According to a 2019 Military Consumers and Marketplace Trust report, almost 20-percent of military spouses lost money in an employment scam compared to fifteen-and-a-half-percent of non-military spouses.
