State health officials say there are over 27-hundred positive cases of coronavirus confirmed over the last day. The total number of cases statewide is approaching 128-thousand. Five additional deaths reported today brings the death toll to one-thousand-353 residents killed by COVID-19. The pressure is especially felt in the Fox Valley. Health officials there issued a Public Health Emergency COVID-19 Alert. Local hospitals have been put under increasing strain with the surge of coronavirus cases across the state, including the Fox Valley.
