Go ahead and cancel the plans to drive to Minneapolis to see the Packers in-person this year. The Minnesota Vikings yesterday announced they will not have fans at their first two home games. That includes their September 13th game against Green Bay. The Packers also will not have fans for their first two home games of the season. The next chance fans will have to be in Lambeau won’t be until November.

Lawsuit Against Gov. Evers Stretches Past Mask Mandate

A lawsuit against Governor Tony Evers is asking the court to toss the face mask mandate.  Three Wisconsin residents filed the lawsuit in Polk County Court represented by the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty. Blake’s Family Reports He’s Paralyzed After Shooting

The father of the man shot multiple times by police in Kenosha says his son is paralyzed below the waist.  Jacob Blake’s father tells the Chicago Sun-Times today his son is paralyzed from the waist down following Sunday’s confrontation with police.  The elder Blake says doctors are not sure if the condition is permanent.  The shooting has prompted two nights of rioting not only in Kenosha but also in Madison. Madison Mayor Speaks Out Against Violence and Destruction

Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway says the city honors First Amendment rights and peaceful protests but draws the line at arson, theft and criminal damage to property.  The mayor is speaking out after two nights of rioting in the capital in response to the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha.  Rhodes-Conway said today that kind of behavior does not build a movement, it undercuts the movement and it divides a community like Madison that largely supports change.

Flags Lowered to Honor WI Marine

Flags are flying at half-staff in honor of a Wisconsin Marine killed on a training mission in California. Nineteen-year-old Private First Class Evan Bath was laid to rest today.  He was killed on June 30th when an amphibious assault vehicle carrying Bath and 15 others sank off the Southern California coast.  Flags will remain at half staff until sunset.

WI Coronavirus Count Dips

Wisconsin health officials are reporting more new cases of COVID-19. Officials say yesterday saw the lowest daily increase of cases in months with 392 added to the total, pushing it close to 71-thousand. No new deaths related to the virus were added to the death toll, which sits at one-thousand-81.

Plans for Solar Farm Shine

Plans for a large solar panel farm in Pierce County are advancing after the Land Management Committee approved a conditional use permit for the project.  Ranger Power officials say securing the permit is an important milestone for their Western Mustang Solar project and its continued development and eventual construction. The group plans on installing their 74-megawatt solar farm on 479 acres of land in northeast Pierce County.

Campus Move-In Procedures Adjust

Local universities are implementing changes to their move-in procedures to mitigate the risks of COVID-19 ahead of their start dates. University of Wisconsin-La Crosse says students will have to move into dorms between September 2nd and September 7th by appointment and they will adjust how often shared spaces will be cleaned. Wausau District Votes to Kick Off Sports

The Wausau School District is moving forward with fall sports after the school board voted in its favor yesterday. The district superintendent says he wasn’t entirely happy with the move as he doesn’t want quarantines and closures from sports to minimize their opportunity to come back because everyone wants kids back in school.
