WI DNR Warns of Pet Poisoning

The Department of Natural Resources is warning pet owners about a number of poisonings reported in Forest, Florence and Marinette counties.

Officials say at least nine dogs have died over the past two years by ingesting poison in those areas and wildlife have also been victims.  Lab tests confirm dangerous toxic substances have been eaten by a number of animals including pets out for a walk with their owners.  People are advised to keep their pets on a leash when outdoors.
