Search Continues for Missing Clark Co. Woman

 The search for a missing Clark County woman is going into its second month. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office says 27-year-old Cassandra Ayon was last seen Saturday, October 3rd at a friend’s house near Unity. She was reported missing the next day. The county sheriff, state department of justice, state crime lab, and Marathon County Sheriff’s Office are investigating.

Retail Thief Still on Loose

Eau Claire police say a person who tried to steal over 250-dollars worth of merchandise from a store is still on the loose. Police say a person tried to push a cart full of unpaid products out of the store yesterday before they were confronted by a loss prevention worker and fled. Police say they left their jacket in the cart, so officers were able to identify them. The suspect is now wanted for bail jumping and retail theft.

It is time to vote in Wisconsin. Today is Election Day, and the polls are open from 7 a.m. til 8 p.m. Voters will get to make their choice for president, congress, state and local races. More Details Released in Chippewa Stabbing Incident

Prosecutors in Chippewa Falls yesterday said Kyler Korn and another man scheduled a fight at the skate park at Marshall Park about two weeks ago. He brought a knife, and another person brought a baseball bat. Police say Korn stabbed two people, but one of them was so severely stabbed that his intestines were visible. Korn is facing six felony charges and is out of jail on 35-hundred-dollars bond.

Coronavirus Spikes Not Traced to Specific Groups

We know how many people are testing positive for the coronavirus in Wisconsin, but we don’t know who. The state’s Department of Health Services is not releasing information on the ages of people who are testing positive. Yesterday, DHS reported 34-hundred more positives and three more deaths. A Community Remembers

It is a somber two-year anniversary for many in the Chippewa Valley. It was on this day back in 2018 that Colten Treu ran down and killed Autumn Helgeson, Jayna Kelley, Haylee Hickle, and mom Sara Jo Schneider.  They were picking-up trash along the side of the highway. EC School Board Votes to Bump Substitute Pay

Eau Claire schools are the latest to offer teachers more to fill-in in the classroom. The city’s school board last night approved an extra 23 dollars-a-day for long term substitute teachers. That brings the total pay for subs up to 201 dollars-a-day. Eau Claire schools say they need substitutes more than ever this year because of the coronavirus.

Arrest Made in Menomonie Stabbing Incident

Menomonie Police make an arrest after a weekend stabbing. It was on November 1st that the Menomonie Police Department responded to the 700 Block of S. Broadway St. for a report of a male that was stabbed. Officers arrived and provided medical care to the victim, who was then transported to the hospital by Menomonie Fire Rescue. The initial investigation provided leads in the case and a tip was received that led to the arrest of a suspect on November

Bond Set at $2 Million

Bond is set at two-million-dollars cash for the Illinois teenager charged with killing two people during protests in Kenosha.  Kyle Rittenhouse made his first court appearance today since being extradited from Illinois on Friday.  His appearance was virtual.  Rittenhouse faces six charges including first-degree intentional homicide and first-degree reckless homicide for the August killings.

WI Sees Dip in Coronavirus Deaths

The coronavirus positivity rate continues to rise in Wisconsin, but the state reported its fewest daily death tally in more than a month.  The Department of Health Services today reported three new deaths, which is the fewest reported in one day since September 28th.  There were over 34-hundred positive tests confirmed today with a positivity rate of 30-percent.
