Woman Charged for Stealing From Local School and Youth Groups

An Eau Claire woman is looking at charges that she spent over 30 thousand dollars in PTA and Girl Scout money on herself. The D.A. filed formal charges yesterday against Christine Busse. She’s accused of keeping 33 thousand-dollars that was supposed to go to the Sam Davey PTA, the local Boy Scouts, and the local Girl Scouts. Busse was treasurer for all three. Letter to Lay Out Voting Options

The Wisconsin Election Commission yesterday sent over two-and-a-half million letters to nearly every registered voter in the state. The letter explains the options for voting in November. The Election Commission says people can vote in-person, with an absentee ballot at the polls, or with an absentee ballot through the mail. The letter explains how to do all three.

WI Could See Benefits Boost

People who are out of a job in Wisconsin may get a little extra from the federal government.  Wisconsin’s Department of Workforce Development yesterday said the state has been cleared to offer 300 dollars-per-week in extra benefits. Sex Offender to be Released in Menomonie

There’s a warning about a to-be released sex offender in Menomonie next week. The state’s Department of Corrections says Joseph Johnson will be released and is at risk to offend again. The USDA on Tuesday extended its free lunch program to all schools across the country because of the coronavirus. The change means no one has to pay for school lunches through the end of the year.
