Chippewa Falls police say an area near Island Street and Willow Street is open again after a gas leak. Police asked people to avoid the area last night while crews worked to fix the leak. They say the situation is resolved and the area has reopened.

Tourism is down 20-percent in one popular Wisconsin county. The Door County peninsula is seeing the decrease from the coronavirus pandemic, but there are still outdoor leisure activities people can enjoy. The U.S. Travel Association estimates that tourism nationally is down 45-percent this year.

WI Coronavirus Stats to Start the Week

Wisconsin’s coronavirus numbers have gone-up over the weekend and to start a new week, we will look at a variety of statistics. The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday reported over 26 hundred new positive tests, that brings the total in Wisconsin to just over 150 thousand positives since March. DHS also reported more than seven thousand negative tests, which brings the total of negatives to over one-point-five million since March. EC Man in Jail for Voter Fraud

Casting a vote back in 2018 has earned an Eau Claire man five days in jail. A judge sentenced Chad Armstrong to jail last week. He pleaded down from felony voter fraud to misdemeanor charges. Armstrong is a felon, he has six OWI’s, and is not allowed to vote. In 2018, he lied to get a ballot and cast his vote.

Wauwatosa’s Curfew Set to End

Wauwatosa’s weekend curfew is set to end this morning. The city has told people to get off the streets from 7 p.m. til 6 a.m. since Thursday when prosecutors in Milwaukee decided not to bring charges against a local officer for shooting and killing Alvin Cole back in February. It is the time of year when the state of Wisconsin tells drivers to hit deer. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is out with its annual warning about deer in the road. This is the time of year when deer are most active, that means plenty of deer in the road at dusk and dawn. WisDot says it is better to hit the deer than to swerve and possibly cause a worse crash by going into a ditch or hitting a tree.

WI Restaurant Industry Taking Hard Hits
