Fatal Rollover Crash in St. Croix Co.

A Minnesota man dies in a rollover crash on the Interstate. It was a bit before 9 on the evening of Friday, October 30th when a vehicle was reported as traveling at a high rate of speed on I94 Westbound in St. Croix County lost control and entered the median. The vehicle rolled multiple times and the lone occupant, a 59 year old man from St. Paul, was fatally injured.

Election Day Eve

Election Day is tomorrow but almost half of the people in Wisconsin have already voted.  The time between now and election day can be counted in hours instead of days.  NBC News presidential historian Michael Beschloss says it’s a referendum on President Trump’s leadership. The Wisconsin Elections Commission said as of yesterday morning that more than one-point-eight million people voted early or absentee. There are a little over three-point-six million registered voters in the state. Yesterday was the last day to vote early in Wisconsin.

WI Coronavirus Cases Continue to Tick Up

The number of people testing positive for the coronavirus in western Wisconsin continues to go up. Eau Claire County reported 115 new positives yesterday. Chippewa County reported 19 new positives, and Dunn County reported 16. The counties are not saying how many people tested negative, or how many people have been declared recovered since last week. Bloomer Shifts Classes Online

Kids in Bloomer will be learning from home for the next two weeks. The school district told parents on Friday that they are moving to online-only classes because a number of teachers and school staffers are in isolation or quarantine because of the coronavirus. The plan is to return to in-person classes on November 16th.

UWEC Explores Campus Options

The latest push to send students at UW-Eau Claire home is coming from the math department. Sixteen professors in the math department sent a letter to the university last week asking that students be sent home for the Thanksgiving break, and not allowed to return. Bucky Benched Awaiting Next Move

We may get an update on the coronavirus and Wisconsin’s football team later today. The school on Friday said 22 coaches and players have tested positive for the coronavirus. UW canceled Saturday’s game against Nebraska. NCAA rules say infected players must sit-out for three weeks. No one is saying what that means for Saturday’s game against Purdue.

Farming Accident Claims a Life in Rock Co.

A farmer is dead from injuries he suffered in an accident in Milton.  The Rock County Sheriff’s office says the 69-year old man died when the International Harvester 640 he was using to tow a corn picker rolled over pinning the operator against a tree. The rollover happened yesterday afternoon in a field by a bridge off of East County Highway North in Milton.  In another part of the state, a silo collapsed at a farm in Walworth County.   The

Biden Brings Campaign to Milwaukee

Democratic Presidential hopeful Joe Biden spoke to his supporters in Milwaukee.  The former Vice President spoke yesterday evening criticizing President Trump claiming his administration has failed in its coronavirus response.  Biden also criticized the Trump administration’s efforts to do away with Obamacare, promising to restore and build it if the Biden-Harris ticket is elected.
