WI Air National Guard Announces Death of F-16 Pilot in Crash

WI Daily Coronavirus Snapshot

Health officials in Wisconsin report an increase of four-thousand-and-34 confirmed COVID-19 cases.  That pushes the total number statewide to over 426-thousand since the pandemic began in March.  The department also reports 57 additional deaths, raising the death toll to nearly four-thousand. “PAWject” Aims to Raise Money for Dog Park

The town of Rib Mountain is finding a creative way to raise money for their dog park.  Officials want to expand Sandy’s Bark Park but they can’t break the budget.  So it was decided they would sell a little bit of their history that’s in storage.  The town has taken down many street signs over the years and now they’re being sold to the public for 20-dollars each.  The money goes to the expansion of the park.

Night Owls Get a Treat

The Northern Lights were visible in Eau Claire last night. The National Weather Service Space Weather Prediction Center says the lights could be visible for the next few nights. A geomagnetic storm from outer space is clashing with Earth’s atmosphere causing shafts of colored light to be visible in the night sky across the Midwest. The center says the best time to see the lights is between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m.

Search Continues for Missing F-16 Pilot

Wisconsin’s National Guard commanders say they will continue searching for a missing F-16 pilot. The guard yesterday said it did not find the pilot who was in the fighter plane that went down in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula on Tuesday night. The sheriff in the area where the plane went down said it is rough terrain and there is no cell service. Guard commanders say they are searching the forest and parts of Lake Michigan. MN Man Facing Homicide Charges in Hudson Stabbing Case

It’s homicide charges for the Minnesota man accused of a deadly stabbing last weekend in Hudson. The D.A. in St. Croix County yesterday filed formal charges against William Davidson Jr. Police say he was the main aggressor in a fight last Saturday that ended with Cain Solheim’s stabbing death. Solheim was one of two people stabbed in the fight, but the other victim survived. Davidson is looking at a life sentence if convicted.

Local Communities Expecting Army Assistance

Eau Claire is on the list of communities in Wisconsin to get healthcare workers from the Army. The Department of Defense yesterday said it is sending 45 workers to Marshfield Medical Center facilities in Eau Claire, Rice Lake, Marshfield and Beaver Dam. The hope is to help take some of the pressure off overworked local staff.
