Eau Claire’s Children’s Museum is closed, and will stay closed until at least 2022, but they will have a new building when they reopen. Museum managers yesterday said they have accepted an offer on a new building, at 220 S. Barstow Street. The Children’s Museum closed in July because of the coronavirus and low attendance. Managers at the time said they would be closed indefinitely, but now say they plan to reopen.

There will be less at the library at UW-Eau Claire for students looking to study ahead of finals at the school. The university yesterday said it is scaling-back at the McIntyre Library. The changes include closing popular study rooms and computer labs, limiting hours, and canceling the popular emotional support dog hours. Library director Jill Markgraf says they are doing what they can to be as safe as possible during the coronavirus outbreak.

Wisconsin’s presidential vote isn’t final yet. The Democratic chairwoman of the Wisconsin Elections Commission, Ann Jacobs, yesterday declared Joe Biden the winner of last month’s election. She said the full Elections Commission will certify the vote later today. But President Trump is talking about filing a lawsuit over voter fraud. Wisconsin’s Restaurant Association is asking restaurants across the state to sign a new safety pledge so they can fully reopen. Association president Kristine Hillmer yesterday said the Ready to Serve pledge has four simple pieces: follow CDC and FDA guidelines, follow local health orders, train your staff, and follow the Association’s guidelines. Hillmer says if restaurants do that, they should be able to open at 100 percent capacity.

 Wisconsin’s businesses do not have to worry about being listed for having a coronavirus positive, at least not for the time being. A judge in Waukesha yesterday issued a temporary injunction that blocks Governor Tony Evers’ office from publishing a list of businesses that have seen a customer or employee test positive for the virus.
