WI coronavirus cases continue to top 3, 000. The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday reported 37- hundred new positives and 82 new deaths. However, Wisconsin’s coronavirus count has steadily dropped since a peak at the beginning of November. Clark Co. Teens Facing Charges After Illegal Hunt

Authorities in Clark County say as many as eight teenagers killed 40 deer during an illegal hunting spree last month. The sheriff’s office and game wardens started investigating after people found deer that had been shot and left in their fields. There’s no age on the teens, but all could be facing misdemeanor hunting charges. The D.A. in Clark County says they are working on an ‘appropriate’ punishment for the teens.

WI DWD Claims Overpayment on Unemployment Claims

Some of the people who waited weeks or months to get their unemployment benefits in Wisconsin are now being told they have to repay some of that money. The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development yesterday said it overpaid unemployment claims by 44-million-dollars. Some people who got unemployment checks are now getting letters asking for some of the money back. President Trump’s Lawsuit Takes Aim at Voter ID Law, Drop Boxes, More…

President Trump’s second election lawsuit in Wisconsin takes aim at voter ID laws, ballot drop boxes, and the way votes were counted during Milwaukee County’s recount. The president’s lawyers filed the suit in federal court in Milwaukee yesterday. The lawsuit is separate from the one the president filed on Tuesday that asks a judge to toss out over 200-thousand votes in the state. The new suit claims ‘unlawful and unconstitutional’ interference in last month’s election.

Lawmakers Needle Capitol Christmas Tree

There are two obvious differences about the tree at the Wisconsin Capitol this year. One, it is much smaller and two, it is called a Christmas Tree. Republican representatives Shae Sortwell and Paul Tittl put up the tree on Tuesday. Lambeau Tries Fans Again

There will be another trial run for fans at Lambeau Field this weekend. The Packers yesterday said they will once again allow 500 people into the stands for the game against the Eagles. The idea is to test concession lines, bathroom capacity, and the general flow of people through Lambeau. There is no word when the Packers will allow fans to buy tickets once again, though there is hope that it will be soon.

A Wish Comes True at Fort McCoy

A wish came true at Fort McCoy! It was on Nov. 7th, that Fort McCoy hosted a Make-A-Wish Foundation event for 8-year-old Chicago resident Miguel Garcia, whose wish was to be an Army Soldier. WI Sees Coronavirus Cases Tick Up

Wisconsin Health officials say coronavirus cases increased by nearly 38-hundred in the last 24 hours.  Statistics released today confirm over 39-thousand-500 positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic.  There were 82 new deaths reported today bringing the death toll to more than three-thousand-500.

WI Educator Gets High Honors

A Rhinelander educator is Wisconsin’s Associate Principal of the Year.  Kari Strebig received the award during a surprise ceremony today.  The Association of Wisconsin School Administrators called Strebig a leader who focuses on equity and ensuring all students feel connected with their peers, teachers and school.  Strebig will be recognized at a ceremony in January.
