Survey Aims to Connect to Community Health

Residents of Chippewa and Eau Claire counties can influence future community health improvement efforts by participating in an online survey that begins today. A coalition of health partners in those counties will begin polling residents this week as the first step toward identifying and addressing the public’s top health concerns. Rollover Injures 4 Teens

The Pepin County Sheriff’s Office says four teens are hurt after a rollover crash Sunday afternoon. The sheriff’s office says a 16-year-old boy was driving too fast over a hill and left the road, rolling the car several times. Three other 16-year-old boys were in the car with him. Police say the driver and one passenger were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Two others were treated at the scene and released.

EC Schools Look to Button Up Dress Code

The Eau Claire School Board will vote tonight to amend the student dress code. Revisions were last made in October that clarified guidelines for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The school board says the revisions addressed student clothing from an equity perspective with input from secondary school principals and assistant principals.

Lawyers Ask for More Time

Lawyers for Altoona’s former superintendent want more time before they head to trial on child pornography charges. Dan Peggs’ lawyer last week wrote a letter to the judge saying he’s discovered another 120-thousand pages of evidence in the case. Peggs is accused of trafficking a girl to make child pornography, and of possessing child porn. Pegg’s lawyers want another 90 days to review the new evidence.

More Pipe Bombs Found in Marshfield Storage Unit

Authorities say the man responsible for at least a half dozen pipe bombs found in a Marshfield apartment complex is not in custody, but they also say there’s no threat to the public. The FBI and the Marathon County sheriff’s office were back at the Woodland Village apartments on Saturday, this time to search a storage facility belonging to the suspect. They found five more bombs. Authorities Seek Help in Finding Missing Teen

There’s a search in west-central Wisconsin for a missing teenage girl. The Adams County sheriff on Saturday put out the word that they are looking for 14-year-old Jennessy Dabell. Her friends and family have not seen her since last Thursday. Anyone who knows anything about her is asked to call the sheriff’s department right away.

WI DHS Reporting Coronavirus Recovery Rates High

More people are being reported as fully recovered from the coronavirus here in Wisconsin. The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday reported that nearly 85-percent of the people who’ve tested positive for the virus have now been cleared. That is over 348-thousand people since March. DHS says 37-hundred people have died from or with the virus, which is less than one-percent of people who’ve tested positive. DHS says fewer than four-and-a-half-percent of people who tested positive in the state have ended-up
