Protestors Storm Capitol, National Guard to Respond

 The National Guard is going to respond to violence in Washington DC.  White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said on Twitter the move is being made at the direction of President Trump. 

His supporters got into the Capitol as the House and Senate were debating an objection to Arizona’s Electoral College votes.  McEnany also urged calm.

 Members of Congress are sheltering in place and urging peace as protesters have stormed the Capitol building.  NBC News’ Josh Lederman says there is one person who was injured.

The chaos started as the House and Senate were debating a challenge to the Electoral College votes from Arizona.  House Minority Whip Steve Scalise tweeted, “We can passionately protest without being violent.”
