Fewer high school seniors in Wisconsin are applying for federal financial aid this year than last year. According to the National College Attainment Network, the number of seniors who’ve completed a free application for federal student aid, or FAFSA is down 13-percent. The application determines eligibility for federal and state scholarship money and it’s also used by many schools to determine financial aid, work study opportunities, and more.

Read MoreIt is going to be a sad goodbye for a lot of Eau Claire Memorial students today. The funeral for 14-year-old Brooke Kelly is scheduled for later this afternoon. Kelly died in a car wreck last month where she was thrown from the car. Three other students were hurt in the wreck. Kelly’s family remembered her as vibrant and dazzling in her obituary. Her funeral is set for Notre Dame Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls.

Read MoreThere is a manhunt underway in northeastern Wisconsin. Police are looking for the 17-year-old who they say shot and killed one person and wounded another at the Fox River Mall. Grand Chute Police say they are looking for 17-year-old Dezman Ellis. Officers say he killed a 19-year-old in the mall yesterday, though they are not saying why. Ellis’ pictures are online, and police say anyone who knows anything about his whereabouts should call 911 immediately.
