WI DHS Reports Coronavirus Cases Ticking Up

The State Department of Health reports 18-hundred-and-two new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.  That pushes the total number of cases to over 538-thousand.  There are over 20-thousand active cases statewide.  Officials also confirmed 24 deaths today which raises the total death toll to five-thousand-811. WI Connection to Deadly Wyoming Crash

A crash in Wyoming has local connections. It was on January 27th that a fatal crash occurred around milepost 106 on Wyoming 220 west of Casper, Wyoming. It happened a little before 9:30 in the morning as Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers were notified ofa one-vehicle rollover. Classes are back on at Chippewa Valley Technical College after a system-wide network outage shut down campus. The shutdown delayed the start of the spring semester which was originally scheduled to start Monday. They say the system breach didn’t affect any student or faculty information.

Kenosha Man Facing Prison Time

It could be 10 years in prison for a Kenosha man for his role in that city’s nights of violence back in August. Federal prosecutors yesterday unveiled an indictment against 27-year-old Ashton Howard. Kenosha Police say Howard knocked an officer unconscious with a brick during the riots that followed Jacob Blake’s shooting, but prosecutors are moving ahead with obstructing law enforcement during civil disorder and possessing ammunition as a felon charges. WI Coronavirus Snapshot

Another day, another snapshot that shows Wisconsin’s coronavirus numbers are falling. The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday reported just over 13-hundred new positives, and a seven-day positive rate of under six-percent. That positive rate was over 11-percent at the beginning of the month, and daily positives were above three-thousand. The number of people in the hospital with the virus in Wisconsin continues to fall as well. DHS yesterday said 734 people are hospitalized, of them 160 are in the ICU. CLICK HERE
