The Milwaukee Brewers set up shop in Phoenix ahead of this year’s Cactus League action.  A truck full of Brewers spring training equipment arrived Saturday outside the team’s camp at American Family Fields of Phoenix.  Season opener is Sunday February 28 against the Chicago White Sox at the Sox ballfield at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona.  This past Friday the Brewers announced tickets for Cactus League games go on sale next Thursday at MLB-dot-Com-slash-Brewers.  Ballpark seating capacity will be offered

Donald Trump is coming out on top despite the most bipartisan vote to convict a one-time President in an impeachment trial in the nation’s history.  President pro tempore Patrick Leahy announced the final vote tally. Seven Republicans voted with all 50 members of the Democratic caucus to convict Trump for inciting the riot inside the Capitol building on January 6th.  Even some of the Republicans who voted to acquit Trump said he was guilty, but decided against voting for conviction

We can expect for information from Eau Claire Police on a deadly shooting that happened last night in Eau Claire on the east side of the city. As the evening went on the charges in the case were updated and the suspect, Selwyn Smith, is now facing First Degree Intentional Homicide Charges in the case. Opps! A college apologizes for a glitch that allowed hundreds of college acceptance letters be sent by mistake.  The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh says last weekend around four hundred acceptance letters were mailed out by error to prospective students.  WKOW reported last night that during the course of the week college entrance officials have been contacting all those who were affected to apologize for the system error.

The Brewers can have fans at Spring Training games.  Team Business Operations President Rick Schlesinger says they got permission from Phoenix officials to have just over 22-hundred fans at American Family Field.  Face masks will be required and social distancing will have to be enforced.  Brewers fans haven’t been at games since March 9th of last year.

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers wants to increase the sales tax.  Evers proposed his budget today saying it will give counties more control over their own budgets.  The governor says taxpayers should have more say in how the local government spends money.  The sales tax is currently five-percent.

On Thursday, Febuary 11th around 11:55 PM the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a one vehicle accident on STH 37 near CTH D in the Town of Gilmanton. The caller reported that there were three occupants in the vehicle and muliple people were injured.
