The average price for regular gas is up four-cents-a-gallon statewide compared to a week ago.  Triple-A says the price at the pump in Wisconsin is two-dollars-and-88-cents a gallon today.  That’s 15 cents below the national average of 3.03.  In six metro areas a gallon of gas is above two-90 including Eau Claire, Kenosha County, Milwaukee, Racine, Wausau and St. Croix County.

The 2021 Agriculture and Household Chemical Clean Sweep collection will be held on Saturday, June 12, at the Buffalo County Highway Shop – Alma Location.  Materials can be brought to the site from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm.  Proof of Buffalo County residency will be required.  The Highway Shop is located at S1672 State Hwy 37, Alma.  Funds for the Clean Sweep were obtained from a grant sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection and Buffalo County.  The Clean Sweep is

Minnesota lawmakers are considering recreational marijuana in the state.  The state House passed a bill that would allow adults 21 and older to purchase it.  Adults could also possess up to an ounce and a half of it and grow up to eight plants. The bill faces a tough road in the Republican-led Senate.

A Chippewa Falls second grader is the winner of a statewide poster contest for Fire Prevention Month.  Every fall, the Chippewa Falls Fire and Emergency Services department hosts the contest and selects five winners from each grade to move onto the state competition.  They say the young lady took home first place overall of the second graders in Wisconsin.

The family of the two Eau Claire brothers hurt in a motorcycle wreck say they’re recovering. Kimberly Carter yesterday said her sons, 21-year-old Dylan and 15-year-old Jesse, both suffered head and neck fractures when they crashed last weekend. Jesse is in the hospital in Minnesota. Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers says high speed internet is coming to the Chippewa Valley. The governor stopped in Eau Claire yesterday as part of his statewide budget tour. The governor said high speed internet is one of his priorities, and likely one of the places where the state will spend part of its two-and-a-half- billion-dollars in federal stimulus money. Teenage drivers in Wisconsin may only have to worry about the written drivers’ test in the future. The state’s DMV yesterday said it wants to permanently do away with the driving test. The Department of Transportation waived driving tests last year because of the coronavirus, and now wants to end them for good.
