Hy-Vee is now offering walk-in COVID-19 shots in Wisconsin. The company’s website says vaccines are available at all Hy-Vee Pharmacies, no appointment necessary. It’s offering all three available vaccines: Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson and Johnson. HyVee is asking people to bring a photo I-D and wear a mask.

Eau Claire is going to lose money collecting yard scraps, even with higher fees. The city council last night agreed to take over brush collections this year. Vaccine Snapshot: WI Nears 2 Million, Recent Doses Drop, Student Rides Offered

We will take a look at the public health picture here in Wisconsin. Nearly two million people in Wisconsin are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus. The state’s Department of Human Services says just over 600 of them have tested positive for COVID. DHS released the numbers on post-vaccination positives yesterday. New Law Aimed at First Responder Compensation

Police officers, firefighters, and other first responders in Wisconsin will now have a much easier path to workers’ compensation for PTSD. Governor Tony Evers yesterday signed a new law that eliminates the requirement that first responders prove their PTSD came from ‘unusual stress’ on the job. The new law simply requires that first responders be diagnosed with PTSD to qualify. Benefits will last for 32 weeks, and the new law caps first responders to three claims during their entire career.

Investigation to Include All Claims

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul says his investigation into sexual abuse complaints in the Catholic Church in Wisconsin will cover all claims, no matter how old. Kaul announced the investigation yesterday, he told church leaders about it a week ago. Kaul plans to look into each of Wisconsin’s five church dioceses, including the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.
