Be honest about getting vaccinated. That’s the plea from Chippewa County Public Health Director Angela Weideman. She says the county is ending its mask requirement for vaccinated people only. But Weideman also said yesterday that the county is pretty much trusting people to be honest about whether they got the shot. Crews from a half-dozen fire departments fought the fire at the mill Tuesday night. The damage was mostly contained to one of the mill’s stacks. No one was hurt. A company spokesperson yesterday said the mill was apparently struck by lightning. Verso closed the mill last year but still owns the property.

It had been there since a crash two weeks ago. No one was injured in the crash, and all five people on board were rescued by rope teams.
