Heating Up Study of Ice Chunk

Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire are analyzing an ice chunk that fell through a man’s roof during storms last week.  The man reported the 12-pound ice chunk came through his roof in Elk Mound, leaving behind a hole that barely missed his bed.  Environmentalist Jim Boulter says it could be a megacryometeor, which are rare, but sightings have been increasing in the last 50 years.

On Saturday, June 26, 2021, Dunn County Farm Bureau, and friends of Dunn County Dairy will be hosting a Dairy Drive Thru. During this event, they will be handing out FREE grilled cheese kits to celebrate June Dairy Month and the great dairy farmers of Dunn County. More Questions Than Answers in La Crosse

There are not a lot of answers about the body found in a park in La Crosse. Police say they found the body yesterday afternoon in Cameron Park, that’s near Highway 14 and Barron Island. Police say there’s no danger to the public. No one is identifying the body or saying how the person died.

Teen Accidentally Shot in Sheboygan

A young man in Sheboygan could lose his right to have a gun after accidentally shooting his friend over the weekend. Police say a 21-year-old was showing his friend his new gun when it went off Saturday night. The bullet hit an 18-year-old. He was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening wound. Sheboygan Police say the 21-year-old was taken to jail. Charges could be filed later this week.

Tony Evers says Democrats need to hold-on to the governor’s office in order to protect the veto pen. Evers formally announced his re-election bid at the Democrats’ virtual state convention on Saturday. Evers narrowly defeated former Governor Scott Walker back in 2018. Back to the Map Drawing Board

The first round is what will likely be a long court battle over Wisconsin’s new political map begins today. A state Senate panel will try and set a timeline for the new map. Wisconsin’s current map, which was drawn after the 2010 Census, ended-up being redrawn by the courts after a lengthy legal battle. WI Nears Drought Levels

Farmers across most of Wisconsin need some rain. The latest drought report says 75-percent of the state is seeing some kind of drought condition. Most of the state, about 50-percent, is simply abnormally dry. Another 25-percent, mostly in southern and central Wisconsin, is listed as being under a moderate drought.
