A Wisconsin distillery is brewing beer again after switching to hand sanitizer production during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Dancing Goat Distillery in Cambridge started making hand sanitizer from a canceled order of St. Patrick’s Day green beer.  They started brewing beer again this past Thursday.  The company was able to convert over a hundred-30-thousand gallons of beer into hand sanitizer for front line workers throughout the pandemic.

WI Straightens Out Braiding Services

Wisconsin’s hair braiding service providers can now conduct business without a license.  Governor Tony Evers signed a measure this week removing the occupational license requirement for natural hair braiders.  The measure removes the need to undergo a process for nearly a year at a cost of thousands of dollars for a license to conduct natural hair braiding that doesn’t use dyes or other chemicals.

EC Woman Arrested for OWI

An Eau Claire woman was arrested for OWI with children in the car. On 7/11/21 at approximately 2:00 AM a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle on Hastings Way at Clairemont Ave in the City of Eau Claire for a speed violation. Upon approach the Trooper detected an odor of an intoxicant coming from the driver. Deadly Motorcycle Crash in Dunn Co.

A deadly motorcycle crash remains under investigation. It was a little after 9 on Friday night, July 9th, when the Dunn County Communications Center received a report of a single motorcycle crash on USH 12, east of 250th St. in Lucas township. The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office and Menomonie Fire Department responded to the scene. Upon arrival, deputies located a lone unresponsive male. WI Researchers Make a Splash in Water Conservation

A recent study shows reporting water wasters in a community can lead to more conservation.  Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison found over 30 billion gallons of water could be saved for every new complaint of water wasting per one thousand people in a utility district.  Those conclusions applied to large states like California, which has over 39 million people.  Researchers also note that kind of water savings could potentially supply a city like San Francisco for almost a year and

WI Continues to Update COVID-19 Dashboard

The state continues to add information to its COVID-19 dashboard.  The Department of Health Services says new maps have been added to show the geographic breakdown of vaccination data statewide.  Officials say they hope the information gives people more understanding about COVID-19 activity in their communities. Pastor Removed By Bishop For Political Statements

The bishop of the Diocese of La Crosse has removed the pastor of St. James the Less Church effective immediately.  Bishop William Callahan asked the Reverend James Altman to resign in May but the priest refused.  The bishop made the decision to remove Altman as pastor after he continued to make divisive comments about the pandemic and politics.

WI Fill Up Holds Steady

 The average price for regular gas is unchanged statewide compared to a week ago.  Heading into the weekend Triple-A says the price at the pump in Wisconsin is two-dollars-and-97-cents a gallon while the national average is three-14.  Drivers are paying two-94 in Green Bay, three-oh-eight in La Crosse and three-oh-one in Eau Claire.  Milwaukee is posting an average price of two-98 today while in Wausau a gallon of gas is two-97 and in Madison it’s two-89.
