Wisconsin-appointed DNR board members are stepping over the scientists in Madison who want to see fewer wolves hunted this year. Business Group Cites Supply Chain Issues

Wisconsin’s largest business group says 90-percent of businesses in the state have had supply chain issues.  Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce yesterday released the final piece of its Employer Survey. The survey shows almost every business in the state has trouble getting products, had to change suppliers, or had to cancel orders because of shortages over the past year. Summerfest Sees Requests for Refunds; Irish Fest Opts Out of Proof

Rather than provide proof of vaccination. Summerfest managers yesterday said they’re getting calls about refunds ahead of next month’s festival. Summerfest announced this week that it will require either proof of vaccination or a negative coronavirus test within 72 hours of the show. UW Studies Vaccines in Children

The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine will be holding clinical trials to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Moderna vaccine for children.  The vaccine is the same one as administered to adults but the trial will determine the correct dosage for kids.  Researchers are looking to enroll about four-thousand children in three age groups from six months to just less than 12 years old.  Enrollment begins tomorrow and the trial last 14 months including follow-up appointments.

Someone in Mineral Point may have had a powerful night. Wednesday’s Powerball drawing resulted in a $2,000,000 winner. The winning ticket was sold by Triple P Express LLC (1045 Branger Dr.) in Mineral Point. Fairfax Pool Adjusts Hours

Fairfax pool will be closing one hour earlier at 6 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. this weekend Saturday, August 14 and Sunday, August 15 as a result of limited staffing levels. The diving well will be closed both days. There may also be capacity limits if staffing levels warrant. Game Day Changes for Packers Fans

Packer fans will have a bit more room to walk on game days this season. The city of Ashwaubenon yesterday said it is closing a portion of Holmgren Way, between Mike McCarthy Way and Brett Favre Pass. Armed Forces will also be closed between South Oneida St and Holmgren Way. The streets will close from two hours before the game to two hours after the game. Election managers in Clark County are defending themselves against claims from the My Pillow guy that their voting machines were hacked last fall.
