It will be the Packers and the 49ers at Lambeau on Saturday.  The Niners earned their trip to Green Bay with a 23-17 win over the Dallas Cowboys yesterday.  The Packers did not play this weekend because they earned a bye as the top seed in the NFC.  Green Bay beat San Francisco 30-26 back in September.  Forecasters say Saturday’s game will see high temperatures in the teens.

Funeral services are held for Beloit’s former fire chief Brad Liggett.  The services were held at the Central Christian Church Dream Center yesterday in Beloit.  Chief Liggett died unexpectedly last Saturday.  He was serving as Fire Chief in Freeport, Illinois at the time of his death.  Chief Liggett was with Beloit’s Fire Department for several decades serving as Chief for 16-years before he took the post in Illinois in 2019.  

A case involving parents’ rights with their children in school is to be heard by the Wisconsin Supreme Court.  The issue stems from the Madison Metropolitan School District’s policy of not divulging to a child’s parents if their child identifies differently and uses a different name at school because of transgenderism.  After the court agreed to hear the case, plaintiffs’ attorney Kate Anderson said on Friday she is hopeful the high court “will take the lead in protecting a parent’s right to

Volk Field is under new command.  Base officials announced Friday that Colonel Matthew Eakins has taken over as the base’s 13th commander on January 10th.   Colonel Eakins replaces Colonel Leslie Zyzda Martin who was relieved of duty in November.

The search committee says the process is narrowed down to two candidates to lead the University of Wisconsin system.  UW-Eau Claire Chancellor James Schmidt and law firm CEO Jay Rothman will both interview with the Special Regent Committee this Tuesday.  A final decision is expected by the end of this month.

A snow sculpting championship is part of Lake Geneva’s 27th Annual Winterfest this year.  Fifteen teams from around the country will compete in the U.S. National Snow Sculpting Championship starting Wednesday February 2nd through Saturday February 5th.  The public can vote at the Lake Geneva Visitor Center and online at WITH AN EASY CLICK HERE.

Brooks is facing over 75 charges, including six counts of first-degree intentional homicide.  Yesterday he was charged with over 70 new charges of reckless endangerment.  If he’s convicted of any homicide charges he’ll spend the rest of his life in prison.

A Fond du Lac police officer is hurt after police say he was assaulted during an investigation.  Police say they were called to a break-in at an apartment late last night when they were approached by a 44-year-old man.  Police say the man suddenly attacked an officer, breaking his nose and fracturing his finger.  The suspect was eventually arrested on several charges.
