Mayor Tom Barrett yesterday said the city is applying to host the 2024 Democratic National Convention. Milwaukee was supposed to host last year, but the coronavirus struck and left Milwaukee with a ‘virtual’ convention that meant no one actually came to the city. Barrett says Milwaukee knows what it takes to land the convention and expects to be a top contender.

Navy Hospital Apprentice First Class Keith Connolly was 19-years-old when he was killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. Connolly along with over 400 other crewman on the USS Oklahoma died when the ship capsized after being hit by torpedoes. His remains were identified earlier this year and he will be buried in November in his hometown of Markesan.
