Jurors in Kyle Rittenhouse’s homicide trial in Kenosha spent most of their day yesterday watching videos. The prosecution played several videos from the night of violence in August of last year. Search For Murder Suspect Continues

The search for a homicide suspect from northern Wisconsin is focusing on the Waukesha area. Authorities say Derek Goplin may be in the area. Police in Antigo say he killed his mother over the weekend. The search is focusing on the  Waukesha area because that’s where police found Goplin’s five-year-old son alone in the Ingleside Hotel Monday morning. Goplin’s pictures are online, police believe he is driving a red Ford Explorer with Wisconsin plates ‘RANDYR.’

Our Girl Scouts Remembered

It’s been three years since three Lake Hallie Girl Scouts were run down along the side of the road. Yesterday, friends and family members of Jayna Kelley, Autumn Helgeson, Haylee Hickle remembered the girls on the anniversary of their deaths. All three, plus one of their mothers, were killed by Colten Treu when he hit them as they were picking-up trash along the side of the highway. Treu is serving a 54 year sentence for his crimes.

Polls Show Low Popularity For Elected Officials

The latest Marquette Law School Poll says both Governor Tony Evers and Republican U.S. Senator Ron Johnson would lose their elections if voters went to the polls today. The poll has shown Johnson with low approval ratings, but this latest poll has his negatives up to 42 percent. The governor’s positive reviews fell by five points since the last Marquette Law School Poll in August. In addition, pollsters say 53 percent of voters asked say they want “someone else” to

Missing Teens Found Safe

The final two missing teenagers from Juneau County have been found. The sheriff’s office yesterday said both 16-year-old Mariah Davis  and 16-year-old Angelina Starkey were located and are safe. No one is saying where they went, or how they were found. The two girls, along with 16-year-old Alessandra Roose, went missing last week. Juneau County’s sheriff says he doesn’t believe their disappearances were related and noted there are no ties between the girls. The sheriff says that they all went

Ballot Back and Forth Continues

A Republican in charge of one of the investigations into last year’s election in Wisconsin says the state’s elections chief misled lawmakers. State Representative Janel Brandtjen yesterday said Wisconsin Elections Commission Administrator Meagan Wolfe told lawmakers back in August that the commission had conducted audits designed to weed-out felons and dead people who should not be on the state’s voter rolls. It turns out, Brandtjen said, that those audits were incomplete or never finished. Brandtjen says Wolfe either intentionally misled lawmakers or is incompetent.

Wisconsin’s busiest hunting season of the year is a little more than two weeks away. The state’s Department of Natural Resources held a virtual update on gun deer season yesterday. Hunters will take to the woods and fields on Saturday the 20th. DNR is reminding hunters about basic safety, and asking them to report any signs of chronic wasting disease. Gun season runs through the 28th of this month.

Get Ready to Fall Back

This weekend marks the end of Daylight Saving.   Wisconsin residents will turn their clocks back an hour before heading to bed Saturday night.  Fire officials across the state say this is a perfect time to check carbon monoxide detectors and smoke alarms and replace batteries if necessary.  It’s also a time to make sure everyone in your household knows escape routes in case of fire.

#12 Positive For COVID-19

Green Bay Packer quarterback Aaron Rodgers tests positive for COVID-19.  The positive test as reported by the NFL Network will keep Rodgers out of Sunday’s game against the Chiefs.  Jordan Love will get his first NFL start when the Packers take the field against the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.  The Packers backup quarterback Kurt Benkert has also tested positive for COVID leaving Love as the team’s sole quarterback.

Local Health Clinics Prepare to Vaccinate Children

 Mayo Clinic is preparing to vaccinate children 5‒11 for COVID-19, with vaccinations to begin Friday, Nov. 5. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has now granted emergency use authorization of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children 5-11. Nationally, nearly 28 million children are now eligible to be protected by a COVID-19 vaccination. In clinical trials, the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine was at least 91% effective in children 5‒11.
