Millions Approved for WI Construction

Over 106-Million dollars worth of new construction projects are approved across southern Wisconsin.  Governor Tony Evers  says the projects will help improve the lives of Wisconsin residents and provide better care to veterans and people with disabilities.  The projects were approved by the Wisconsin State Building Commission earlier this month.

Want To (Van) Gough to An Art Exhibit?

A traveling exhibition featuring art from Van Gogh is coming to Madison later this year.  Immersive Van Gogh will open at the Greenway Station Shopping Center in Madison on November 24th and run through January 8th.  Lighthouse Immersive says the experience allows viewers to go inside Van Gogh’s art with the help of projectors.  Tickets are currently on sale online at Van-Gogh-Madison-dot-com.

Curtiss Man Dies in Farming Accident

On Thursday, May 5th, 2022, at approximately 11:14 AM, the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a male subject trapped underneath a large tractor tire on a farm located at W5673 Pine Avenue in the Town of Little Black, Taylor County. Art Steamrolls Back to Local Campus

Menomonie, Wis. –University of Wisconsin-Stout Print Club and printmaking faculty in the School of Art and Design recently incorporated road construction equipment into their creative process.  After carving large fiberboard plates, most of which are hand-carved and around 3 by 4 feet in size, the group inked and pressed the prints on fabric at a Steamroller Printmaking event on the sidewalk outside of the Applied Arts Building and Micheels Hall on April 29.  Between 20 to 25 prints were pulled and are

Limited Time to Catch Rare Bloom

 The corpse flower at Madison’s Olbrich Botanical Gardens is now in bloom.  The flower bloomed yesterday afternoon but will likely only stay in bloom for 24 to 36 hours.  The Bolz Conservatory is open until seven o’clock tonight to give people the opportunity to see the flower.  Tickets are six dollars for adults and three dollars for kids six to 12-years-old.

It’s a return to court for the teenage suspect in Lily Peters’ murder. The 14-year-old suspect, is due for a status hearing this afternoon. Prosecutors are pushing ahead with homicide charges in adult court against the teen. He continues to be held on a million-dollars bond.

Push to Free Dassey Continues

Brendan Dassey’s chances to get out of prison are shrinking. Governor Evers’ office yesterday said he is ‘not considering sentence commutations at this time,’ The announcement comes after a number of ads started showing up on buses in Madison, asking the governor to send Dassey home. Dassey’s lawyers continue to say he was coerced into confessing to being part of Theresa Halbach’s murder back in 2005.

Injured Eagle Continues to Soar

There’s good news for the Bald Eagle wounded in western Wisconsin. Managers at the Raptor Education Group in Antigo say the eagle is flying as it works its way back to full health. Investigators think someone shot the eagle last month. That left the bird with a broken wing and a case of lead poisoning. There’s an 18 thousand-dollar reward out for information in the case.

WI Election Probe Continues

The back-and-forth over Wisconsin’s investigation into the 2020 election is not stopping. A judge in Madison yesterday ordered former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Mike Gableman, who is overseeing the investigation, to not delete any more of his records. A liberal group has peppered Gableman’s office with open records requests, and says they fear he is not keeping everything. Gableman says he is not required to keep all of his documents because the legislature, who he works for, is not required to either.
