There is one suspect in custody for the string of shootings that rang-in 2022 in Madison. Police arrested a 39-year-old man who they say was firing a rifle at about 12:45 a.m. New Year’s Day in the 2500 block of Calypso Road, that’s on the city’s west side. There are no other suspects in the two other shootings in the city on New Year’s Eve. There’s no indication that any of the shootings are connected.
