DNA Evidence Helps Solve Case of Baby Thresa

A cold case death investigation is solved and a suspect is in custody.

Yesterday, the Dodge County Sheriff’s office said DNA evidence helped solved the case of the death of Baby Theresa.  She was named for the Town of Theresa where her remains were found by a roadside in April of 2009.   A comparison of Baby Theresa’s DNA with DNA in genealogical studies company Family Tree’s customer database ultimately led to the identity of the child’s mother.   Karin Luttinen was in court yesterday and faces charges of concealing the death of a child.
