Darrell Brooks Junior is looking at dozens of more charges for the Waukesha Christmas Parade attack. Prosecutors in Waukesha yesterday filed 71 new charges of reckless endangerment. Police say Brooks barreled through the parade in late November, killing six and injuring more than 60 others. The new charges cover the injuries to people in the parade and those who were watching. Everyone who lives in the apartments made it out okay. The city’s fire department says the firefighter suffered minor injuries, but they are not offering specifics. There’s no word what started the fire.

The DNR says it’s possible that wolves are in western Wisconsin, but the agency says it’s unlikely that wolves would come so close to people. If it is a wolf, the DNR says stay away from it and then report back to their office.

The state’s Hospital Association yesterday said two-thousand-278 people are in the hospital with the virus. That is one more than Wisconsin’s previous record-high, set back in November of 2020. The Hospital Association says 488 people are in ICUs across the state. Nearly all of the cases are omicron cases, which for people who are vaccinated is much less severe than previous strains of the coronavirus.
