The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) has identified new cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in backyard flocks in Fond du Lac and Oconto counties. Both flocks were depopulated to prevent spread of the disease. HPAI has now been found in domestic flocks in nine counties. Governor Tony Evers signed-on to a letter from seven other Midwestern states asking the Biden Administration to green light the sale of more ethanol fuel. Eau Claire County’s district attorney yesterday said 43-year-old Demetrio Jackson died from a heart attack, likely brought-on by a heart condition and lethal amount of meth. Jackson died in the hospital about two weeks after he was arrested back in October for standing on top of a car and screaming along Harlem Street. The D.A. says the officers involved will not be charged in the case.
