If you live in Watertown you likely have a lot of car loan debt.  That’s according to WalletHub, which says Watertown is in the first percentile for U.S. cities with car loan debt.  WalletHub says the median car loan debt in Watertown is over 29-thousand dollars, the second most of any U.S. city.  The city with the most car loan debt is Southlake, Texas. Trial For Murdered WI Brothers Delayed

The family of two murdered Shawano brothers will have to wait another year to see if they get justice.  A judge on Monday pushed back Joey Nelson’s trial for the murders of Nicholas and Justin Diemel until next March.  Nelson’s lawyers say he needs a mental evaluation before trial.  The trial was supposed to start in June.  Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in the case.  They say Nelson killed the brothers over a bad cattle deal, then burned or

Everyone Safe After School Bus Accident

Everyone is alright after a school bus crash in Eau Claire yesterday afternoon.  North High School sent out a message yesterday afternoon saying one of its buses was involved in a minor accident at Old Wells Road and the North Crossing.  No students were injured.  The school says a second bus was sent to make sure kids got home as quickly as possible.

Madison Man Facing Chargers After Chasing Down Thieves

 A Madison man who was angry over having his snowblower stolen is now looking at charges for what he did with that anger.  Madison Police say 29-year-old Corey Sanderson t-boned a car full of people who had just stolen his snowblower on Monday night. A man and a woman in the car were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.  Sanderson was arrested.  He’s looking at reckless endangerment charges.  The man and the woman could be charged with theft.

WI Lawmakers Gear Up for Trucking Industry

Coronavirus Cases Fall Locally

Add Eau Claire County to the list of places where coronavirus cases are falling rapidly.  The city-county health department yesterday said positive cases are down 70-percent from just two weeks ago.  Eau Claire County is now averaging 74 positives per-day.  That number was above 240 per-day back in January.  Despite the drop, the health department continues to suggest that people wear masks and get their coronavirus vaccinations.

Communities On Tap for Water Testing Funds

There’s more money available for local communities to look for forever chemicals in their water.  Governor Tony Evers’ office yesterday said Wisconsin will use 600-thousand-dollars in federal funds to pay for local water testing.  The governor has focused on PFAS testing during his time in office.  There’s no list yet as to just which communities will see a share of the new money.
