A third person is dead along with a Janesville couple after they were hit by lightning near the White House on Thursday.  Investigators with Metropolitan Police of the District of Columbia said yesterday that 76-year-old James Mueller and 75-year-old Donna Mueller have died from their injuries after the lightning strike.  They were on an east coast trip celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary.  Two others huddled under a tree with the Muellers during the thunderstorm were also hit on Thursday in

Governor Tony Evers pardons 49-people.  The Governor issued the pardons yesterday.  In all, Governor Evers has issued six-hundred-three pardons during his tenure.  The procedure to request a pardon is available online at Evers-dot-WI-dot-gov-slash-pardons.

The 45th President endorses Republican Tim Michels as candidate for the Governor of Wisconsin.  Donald Trump endorsed the construction company owner from Brownsville, Wisconsin in June and did so again in person on stage last night during a speech at the Save America rally in Waukesha.   Michels spoke saying, “I’m honored to be endorsed by President Donald Trump and boy I wish he was President today.”  The primary election in Wisconsin is this coming Tuesday, August 9th.

The FBI is on the hunt in south central Wisconsin for a suspect accused of shooting at an FBI agent in Georgia. The FBI’s Milwaukee field office said yesterday investigators believe 24-year old Joshuia Brown could be in the Johnson Creek area of Jefferson County.   Brown is accused of firing several rounds at an FBI agent on July 28th in Columbus, Georgia.   A 25-thousand dollar reward is being offered for information leading to Brown’s arrest.

 Rackow’s Family Sausage in Juda, Wis., is issuing a Class I recall for pork lard sold from its store. The recalled product includes: Pork lard, 4-lb. tubs, purchased before August 1, 2022. This is a Class I recall, initiated based on evidence collected during a routine inspection by state inspectors. Evidence shows that the product was not produced under a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) food safety plan. More than 20 high school freshmen from Altoona, Cadott, Bloomer and Elk Mound schools signed certificates of intent to begin the Business Management Academy at Chippewa Valley Technical College in a few weeks at the beginning of the fall semester.
