It doesn’t look like Wisconsin lawmakers are going to approve a new Milwaukee County juvenile detention center this spring. Assembly Speaker Robin Vos yesterday said it’s unlikely that state representatives will vote on the plan from the Wisconsin Senate to spend 43 million-dollars to replace the troubled Lincoln Hills youth prison. Lawyers Argue Homicides Charges Against Former Clown Break Prosecutor’s Promise

Lawyers for ‘Silly the Clown’ say Milwaukee County prosecutors broke their promise by charging him with his daughter’s death from back in 1991. The D.A.’s office filed reckless homicide charges against Ronald Schroeder back in August. This month, his lawyers told a judge that the 30-year gap between the alleged crime and the filing of charges violates Schroeder’s due process, and breaks a written promise from prosecutors not to charge him in the case. WI Lawmakers Have Clean Water Bills on Tap

Wisconsin lawmakers are working on plans to keep the state’s waterways clean.  The Joint Finance Committee passed companion bills today that would allocated up to one-point-four-million dollars a year toward keeping farmers’ fertilizers out of waterways.  The money would also be used to pay for a new University of Wisconsin System position that would monitor groundwater quality.  The bills are supported by many Wisconsin agriculture groups.

Fire Destroys Sturgeon Bay Bar

Multiple people are unaccounted for after an early morning fire at a bar in Sturgeon Bay.  Police say the fire broke out at Dutch’s Bar around 3:40 this morning, causing the roof and second floor to collapse.  One person was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.  Police say there were nine occupied rooms above the bar at the time of the fire and not all of those people have been contacted.  The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined.

Rittenhouse Launches Media Accountability Project

 The Illinois teenager acquitted of murder during street protests in Wisconsin is launching an initiative to combat what he calls “lies” told by powerful news organizations.  Eighteen-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse talked about his Media Accountability Project on Fox News Monday night.  Rittenhouse said the project will raise money to take media organizations to court.  He said he wants to “hold them accountable” for what he feels they did to him.

Death of Racine Firefighter Ruled Homicide

Investigators are treating the weekend death of a long-time Racine firefighter as a homicide. Fire crews were among the first to respond to a call about a man who wasn’t breathing on Sunday. That’s when they found 50-year-old Christopher Lalor’s body. No one is saying just how he died, or who may be involved. A Chippewa Falls woman is looking at charges after police say she stole 83-thousand-dollars from a youth basketball organization.  Investigators say the new treasurer at the Cardinal Flight Girls Basketball noticed some discrepancies after taking over last summer.  Investigators say it looks like the former treasurer, 54-year-old Lisa Johnson, spent the money on meals, her cell phone bill, and even airplane tickets.  Johnson told investigators that she tried to repay whatever money she took from the basketball program, but lost

It is suspensions and fines for the players and coaches involved in Sunday’s fight after the Badger game. The Big Ten yesterday suspended Michigan coach Juwan Howard for the rest of the regular season and fined him 40-thousand-dollars for slapping a UW assistant coach. Wisconsin coach Greg Gard was hit with a 10-thousand-dollar fine.
