Packer fans got a 102-year slideshow from the team on social media yesterday.  The Packers celebrated their 103rd birthday by highlighting every team photo from 1919 up until last year.  It was on August 11th, 1919 that the Packers were created as a team.  The Packers begin their 103rd season tonight with a preseason game against the 49ers.

Wisconsin transportation officials have filed a plan with the federal government for funding to build charging stations for electric vehicles across the state.  Officials say the program would cost 78-million dollars and funding would come from the federal infrastructure act.  Under Wisconsin’s plan,. charging stations would be located every 50 miles and no more than a mile off the exits of major fuel corridors in the state.   

A federal program that provides an academic, financial and individual support system for 28 students each year has been renewed at University of Wisconsin-Stout. Funding for the McNair Scholars Program has been awarded by the U.S. Department of Education for another five years beginning Oct. 1, 2023, for $261,888 annually, totaling $1.31 million. There’s no pause in the political ads in Wisconsin. Republican candidate for governor Tim Michels yesterday launched a new ad calling Governor Tony Evers and President Joe Biden ‘two peas in a pod.’ The content of the ad is nothing new, but the ad itself is a sign of how strong Michels campaign against Evers will be this November. Michels spent 12 million-dollars of his own money on the primary, and is expected to spend millions more for the November election.

One of Madison’s lawmakers wants a full investigation into the Gableman investigation. Democratic state Senator Melissa Agard yesterday asked for a full audit of the investigation into the 2020 election. Agard says she wants a full accounting of the million-dollars that have been spent in the Gableman investigation so far. She says the probe into the last presidential election has been one of the most blatant misappropriations of tax dollars in the state’s history.

There are new “buns” in an old building. The city yesterday celebrated the opening of The Oscar Apartments on the site of the old factory on the city’s north side. There are 110 new apartments, with half of them being held for people over 55.

The man accused of running down three Girl Scouts in Chippewa County is taking his case to the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Colten Treu filed an appeal with the high court this week. It comes after an appeals court shot down his request for a new trial. Treu says his lawyers didn’t fully explain his guilty plea. Treu pleaded guilty to killing the girls and one of their moms’ back in 2018. Police say he was high while driving down the road.
