Chippewa County has an agreement to close the Tilden Gun Range. The county board yesterday agreed to close the gun range, and tear down all of the buildings by the end of next month. The closure comes after a complaint from neighbors about bullets from the range hitting their home. Those neighbors have agreed to pay the county 75 thousand-dollars to expedite the closure.

Amazon’s new warehouse in Eau Claire is clicking right along! The company opened its warehouse on the city’s northwest side earlier this month. Since then, it’s been handling deliveries for Eau Claire and other parts of western Wisconsin. Eau Claire won the warehouse because of the high number of people in town who use its services.  The city of Wausau is looking to borrow to pay for its PFAS clean-up effort. The city yesterday said it is moving forward with a plan to remove as many of the so-called forever chemicals from its water supply. The price tag is 16 million-dollars. Sheboygan County’s D.A. say he will prosecutor doctors who continue to provide abortions in the state. District Attorney Joel Urmanski this week said he will enforce the state’s near-total ban on abortions. Sheboygan is one of three communities in Wisconsin where abortions were provided. In the others, Milwaukee and Madison, prosecutors have promised not to enforce the law. Tickets are now on sale for Packers family night. The team launched sales yesterday. Family Night is Friday, August the 5th this year. Tickets are 10 dollars each, with a limit of 10 per family, and they will be digital only. Gates open at 5:30 and there will be a fireworks show after the practice and family events.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court rules a member of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Board can stay on the board until a new member is confirmed.  Today’s decision means Republican Fred Prehn can stay on the board despite his term ending last year.  The Supreme Court says Prehn can’t be fired by the governor without cause.  Republicans in the Wisconsin Senate have failed to move forward with confirming a replacement appointed by Governor Tony Evers.

The judge in the case yesterday ordered a series of mental health exams for Darrell Brooks Jr. He’s facing over 80 charges for the attack on Waukesha’s Christmas Parade last November.
