Milwaukee Alderwoman Chantia Lewis is no longer in office after admitting to misconduct in public office. Lewis pleaded guilty in Milwaukee County Circuit Court today while also entering a no contest plea to campaign finance violations. Prosecutors say she took family trips using campaign funds and “double dipped” by asking for reimbursement on items paid by campaign funds. Sentencing is next month.

Read MoreMilwaukee is updating its convention plan, this time for the Republicans. An RNC planning committee on Friday picked Milwaukee to host the 2024 Republican National Convention. Milwaukee beat-out Nashville, which saw some opposition from local Democratic leaders. Milwaukee will largely use the plan first put together for the Democratic National Convention in 2020. The convention didn’t happen because of the coronavirus. The RNC is planned for the summer of 2024.
