A River Falls man has been identified as the inmate who died Saturday morning at the St. Croix County Jail in Hudson.
The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office says 22-year-old Ethan P. Tjader was found unresponsive in the jail’s Huber dorm shortly before 6:30 a.m.
Jail staff and emergency medical personnel attempted lifesaving measures, but Tjader was pronounced dead at the facility.
As is standard procedure following an inmate death, the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office has been asked to conduct an independent investigation into the incident.
Authorities have not released additional information about the cause of death, and the investigation remains ongoing.
