Evers Veto’s Bills

Governor Tony Evers is vetoing bills that target LGBTQ-plus youth.

Evers vetoed Assembly Bill 100 and 102, which would’ve required schools to have children participate in sports based on the sex they were assigned at birth.  Assembly Bill 103, 104 and Senate Bill 405 were also vetoed.  Evers said he went against the bills because he doesn’t want to restrict “medical professionals from providing evidence-based and medically appropriate care to their parents,” as well as “preventing patients from receiving that care, and restricting parents from making decisions with physicians to ensure that children receive the healthcare that they need.”
