The Wisconsin State Patrol is spreading awareness this month of human trafficking.
The department says that everyone can have a role in helping to prevent the crime and protect potential victims. Folks are asked to be watchful for signs that someone is vulnerable including sudden or dramatic changes in behavior, becoming disconnected from family, friends or community organizations, signs of mental or physical abuse or deprivation of basic needs and indications that someone is being coached on what to say or who is not in control of their own decisions.
