Students and staff at the University of Wisconsin La-Crosse are affected by a global outage of Amazon Web Services.
An email sent to UWL students and staff by the campus ITS department, canvas – UWL’s learning management system experienced disruptions today due to “degradation in service” from their hosting provider Amazon Web Services. IT says users may experience difficulty accessing Canvas, slow loading times and intermittent connectivity issues. Students use Canvas for course content, assignments, quizzes and grading as well as other feedback and communications that are part of coursework. ITS said it is actively monitoring the situation and is in contact with Canvas support, it will provide updates as more information becomes available.
