Police Seek Tips on Local Check Fraud Incident

On September 16, 2025 Abrham Lee Boebel m/u 7/13/04 attempted to cash a fraudulent check at Westconsin Credit Union.

Boebel was in possession of a counterfeit check made out to him. Boebel advised he was picked up at a Salvation Army in La Crosse by three unknown black males where he was propositioned to cash checks that were made out to him. A white, 2025 Toyota RAV4 with MN plates SJJ-913 was identified as the suspect’s vehicle. Rental information returns to Lawrence Jermaine Kloc from Daytona Beach, FL. Boebel confirms Kloc was one of the individuals based on a photo ID.

Boebel advised Kloc had flown into MSP from Florida where he rented the RAV4. A Flock search showed the RAV4 was in West Salem and Onalaska on September 13, Eau Claire and Altoona on September 14 & 15.
