The Fox River is at nearly record-high flood levels after more rain fell in Southeastern Wisconsin on Tuesday.
The Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says the river could rise to eight-point-eight feet today. That’s less than an inch away from the current record, set in 2008. Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow declared a state of emergency for the region on Monday, and the state of Wisconsin is also under a state of emergency, after historic flooding over the weekend.
